Proposal guidelines

The PDF file with the proposal guidelines is available here: Guidelines for proposal.

You can submit your contributions for inclusion in one of three kinds of sessions:

  • symposium
  • paper session
  • poster session

The submission system will be open from October 13 to December 31, 2025.

Each contributor can be the presenting author at a maximum of two sessions (symposium, individual paper session, or poster session) and can participate as a discussant up to two times.

Ensure that your contribution is written entirely in English.

We look forward to receiving your contributions!

Symposium

A symposium is an excellent way to bring together papers on a specific topic. The symposium organizers chair the sessions, scheduling three presentations, each followed by a discussion led by a discussant. Contributions should come from at least three different countries.

Symposium proposals should include a general abstract of 100–200 words that identifies the main topic of the symposium and the papers to be presented. Each individual paper should contain an abstract of 100–200 words and an extended summary of 400–600 words (excluding references). The extended summary should summarize the study’s 1) theoretical framework, 2) aims and research questions, 3) methodology (context, participants, procedure, instruments, and data analysis techniques), 4) results and discussion, and 5) limitations and implications.

Keywords: four keywords must accompany each general abstract and each individual paper.

Duration: The duration of each symposium session will be 90 minutes. Each presenter as well as the discussant of the symposium has 15 minutes for the individual presentation/discussion. The remaining time will be used for an open discussion led by symposium organizers.

Individual paper session

An individual paper session addresses a particular conference theme. Individual papers may be theoretical or empirical and are not included in symposia. Clear keywords are required to enable the grouping of individual papers into sessions that cover a single topic or general issue. Each individual paper session is directed by a chair and consists of three to four presentations, which are followed by a discussion with the audience.

Individual paper session proposals should include an abstract of 100–200 words and an extended summary of 400–600 words (excluding references). The extended summary should include the study’s 1) theoretical framework, 2) aims and research questions, 3) methodology (context, participants, procedure, instruments, and data analysis techniques), 4) results and discussion, and 5) limitations and implications.

Keywords: four keywords are required.

Duration: The duration of each individual paper session will be 90 minutes. Presentations of individual papers will take 15 minutes each. The remaining time will be used for an open discussion led by the session chair.

Poster session

A poster session involves presenting research in a visual format. It provides an excellent opportunity for interaction and discussing the works presented. Presenters should stand by their poster for the full 90 minutes of the session to answer questions, but neither an introduction nor a formal oral presentation is required. The audience circulates among the posters, stopping to interact with the presenters of those that interest them.

The poster proposal should include the following: 1) a title of no more than 100 characters (including spaces), 2) an abstract of 100–200 words, and 3) an extended summary (400–600 words). The extended summary should present the main sections of the research, including the aims and research questions, the theoretical background, the methodology, the main results, and the educational implications of the research.

Keywords: four keywords are required.

The three best posters from JURE members will be awarded, and the winners will be honored at the conference dinner.
